Adding borders to images in Gimp

Until last week I used these instructions to add borders to images using Gimp. But I always found it difficult to get the size of the borders the same on all four sides. I couldn't get the image to center within the canvas all the time. Then a couple of days ago, I stumbled upon the Add Border feature in the Filters->Decor menu. I always thought Gimp might already have a feature for adding borders, since it's used often. But it's possible that this is a newly added feature. Anyways, this feature works great. You can specify the size of the border and the color you want to use. Gimp also has a Fuzzy Border feature (in the same menu) that adds a nice blurred effect at the border image boundary making the border blend in with the image.

The photo above uses the Fuzzy Border. Click on the image to view a larger size.
