Mithya
Bharadwaj Rangan described Mithya as the "film-to-beat" this year. And he's right. Rajat Kapur's movie is a tight combination of comedy, thrill, drama and suspense. One of the things I really liked about the movie was the script (by Rajat Kapoor and Saurabh Shukla) that has many of these off-topic dialogues that don't really forward the story, but exist anyways; almost Quentin Tarantino-esque. I read (or misread) somewhere on the interweb that the movie is a comedy. In many ways it is, but mostly it isn't. But the comic scenes when they appear in the movie are really well placed and well done. While everyone in the movie has acted well, Vinay Pathak has created a remarkable character with his acting. He may very well turn out to be the star of movie.
