72 Hoyt Street
72 Hoyt Street was where I spent some of my finest days of my life (at least until now :-) and I'm sure for a long time to come ). And this was where I learnt all that I know about music and a lot of other things with and from my friends Riff, Vijay, Batal, Faizal, Ram and others. And to relive those moments in a new way and to add a new twist to things, we have created www.72hoytstreet.net, which we hope will become a home to many interesting and creative ideas and concepts, just like the actual one was once upon a time. And we start the journey with a band that I first came to know at 72 Hoyt Street - Agni. Riff's description of the band, their album and the tragedy that the members of the band had to suffer got me hooked to the music of Agni even before I actually heard the first song from that album. But the album was not available in stores any more and both Riff and I searched all over the place for that album for a very long time (two years I think), until I was finally able to get a CD quality version of the album from a good samaritan. And the album turned out to be all that I had expected it to be and more. Its one of my favourite albums of all time. And we wanted more people to listen to this strange and beautiful music. With permission from Pravin Bell, the rhythm guitarist on Wind Dance With Fire and the current bass player for the band, we are hereby putting up all the tracks from the album for free downloads. The songs are MP3s (encoded @ 192kbps) and are available here.
I hope you enjoy the music.
