The New eServe Advertisement

I am not a big fan of the new eServe advertisement with Bob Dylan's 'The Man in Me' track playing in the background. While their concept is well-meaning, I personally think they are focussing on the wrong issue. For those who haven't seen the advertisment on television already, it shows this person coming home from work in the morning and making a burnt breakfast for his wife who is just waking up. The wife smiles, appreciating her husband's honest effort. The tag-line for that advertisment (presented in the form of a voice over)is 'which job lets you come home to a smile like that?' referring to the wife's smile. I don't think a happily married man would take up a night time job (unless of course his wife is working on a night shift too) so that he could see that smile on his wife's face when he returns home in the morning. That smile will disappear in a few days time when both that person and his wife realise that they get to see each other for only two hours a day. I think there are other things that advertisement could have stressed on - such as what you get to learn on that job, the skills you can pick up etc. eServe's earlier advertisments was a much better one in that respect. At least thats what I think.
